What we’re doing now

Oh hey there summer! So nice to see you pal. πŸ›ΆπŸ€ΏβšΎπŸŒΊπŸŒ»πŸ–πŸŒ…β˜€We’re living it up with this gorgeous weather, the ability to enjoy the outdoors, and finally feeding our customers face to face.

For those of you that have already had a chance to visit us at the Memorial Center Farmer’s Market-hey thanks! We’ve had an incredible first month, by far the best we’ve ever had. For those of you that haven’t-you’re missing out! It runs from 9-2 every Sunday, and it’s a blast!

We’re serving up a hot food menu that’s currently:

-Impossible meatball subs served with organic basil marinara, violife cheddar and herb baguette from The Crusty Baker (who just happens to be our next door market neighbor)

-“Lobster” rolls made of oyster mushrooms and hearts of palm, vegan mayo and traditional lobster roll seasonings-topped with chips and kale.

-Breakfast bagel, with new and improved parts.

We’re now making it on Nosh Montreal Style bagels which are Kingston local, a new recipe seitan breakfast sausage, tofu egg and violife cheddar cheese. This week we’ll also have carrot smoked salmon, with capers, red onions and a nut based cultured cashew cream cheese that we make in house, served on a bagel for a delightful Sunday morning treat.

Every week we also come with a variety of baked goods because if there’s one thing society hasn’t caught up to yet, it’s how to make great vegan desserts.

Also available is a rotating menu of a variety of frozen and take home foods that might include:

  • Truffle mac and cheese
  • Chick’un pot pie made with local roasted/pulled mushrooms
  • BBQ pulled “pork” mac and cheese
  • Truffle cream, arugula, walnut, pear, bleu cheese, carmelized onion frozen wood fired pizzas
  • Vegan lasagnas in gluten full and gluten free edition
  • Tofu quiche in seasonal flavours
  • Miso and Creamy Balsalmic Salad dressing

Other things we’re doing this summer:

July 16th- Pop up Night Market at BSE. One of our favorite spots in Kingston is having a night market featuring some of the best vendors in the city. Montreal Street Collective, Sherry Jeferey jewelry and more. We’ll be serving up foods and snacks, on what we hope will be a beautiful summer night. See you there!

Weekly fresh donuts at Daughter’s General Store. Each Wednesday, you’ll find fresh vegan donuts at 65 John street. They sell out quickly, so we recommend a morning drive by!

Pride month is over, but we still mix gay into every batch.

Mackinnon Brother’s Back to the Farm. Look for us in August at our first festival in actual years. We’re so excited to bring back our Boler, and serve you the best foods at the coolest outdoor event!

Low key operating a bakery. Our custom baked goods department (it’s me, I’m the baked goods department) has been going non stop with birthday cakes, wedding cakes, graduation treats, cupcakes gallore and ice cream cakes for days. You can see a previous post for a list of baked goods available, with new items added all the time when I see something cool on the internet that I *need* to veganize (remember the Millionaire Square rush of spring 2021?) If you need a cake for a special occasion, please reach out well ahead of time, as our wedding and custom baking slots fill up quickly and I hate letting you down.

Whichever event we see your face at, thank you for your support over the last year and a half, and thank you for your ongoing enthusiam. We’re tired, but feeding you and making you happy keeps us going!
